The Towers of St. Patrick's Cathedral
There are two square towers on either side of the main gable which consist of three stories. Where the tower ends, about 136 feet from the base , an octagonal chamber called the lantern begins. The eight faces of each lantern are filled with windows, and the eight corners end in pinnacles. Finally, above each lantern an octagonal tower rises a two-storied spire.
