My Father's 1937 Urago - Restored
Ordered new by my father and received by him in 1938.
Original Equipment :
Frame - Reynolds 531
Fork - Reynolds HM
Headset and Bottom Bracket - Stronglight
Derailleur - Super Champion "Tour de France" four speed
Crankset - Duprat Perforee cottered hollow steel
Brakes - Sport Bowden Touriste
Bar and Stem - Caminargent
Brake Levers - Le Grimpeur
Saddle - Brooks B17 Champion Standard
Seatpost - Unkown alloy with integral clamp
Fenders - Unknown marque but original to the bike from 1938 or shortly after.
Wheels - Rebuilt by Scott Ebersole using original Urago branded hubs, NOS galvinized spokes (which Scott had to cut to length and rethread!) and vintage 700c alloy rims.
Pedals, pump, and chainring are vintage replacements for missing originals. Paint, color mixed and applied with a brush by me in the manner of my father who did this repeatedly over the years.
