Main Switchboard
Our ship's 480 volt electrical switchboard has breakers which are controlled automatically by the Power Management System, through the Human/Machine Interface, or manually. It is a 2-side split bus in which one of our two main generators can operate on each side and the 3rd auxiliary generator can be switched form side to side. Normally each bus side operates in a 'tied together' configuration. Synchronization, voltage control, and load sharing is controlled by programmable loic controllers while in automatic mode. The PMS features 'hands-off' auto-start, auto-shutdown, and black-start capability for the 3 generator sets.
