The Unit's ship HMS Exploit is berthed in Penarth. It was built in Portsmouth by Vosper Thorneycroft in 1988. She has a crew of 4 and can take a maximum of 12 students at any one time. HMS Exploit is affiliated to 2 Combined Cadet Forces at Rhondda and Hereford Cathedral School, and also to HMS Superb of the Submarine Flotilla. The ship's motto is "Actis Inclitis" which means "With Illustrious Deeds"
