Feels like Polynesia

We took the boardwalk most of the way out to the two Ahu platforms. The native palm trees had been wiped out by cutting and rats. Rats ate the nuts and prevented new trees growing. So... these trees we walked through were imported and planted here in an effort to lend some of the original feel to this place.
