Heckuva Start

The plastic deflector assembly under the front of our VW had been slightly damaged and a portion was hanging loose just below the painted metal up front. So, naturally, as we headed south on Interstate 5 on our way to Death Valley we unavoidably ran over and flattened an empty cardboard box causing further damage to the stupid plastic car parts.

Long story short: 20 or so miles farther on we exited at highway 46, grabbed a bite and then searched for some place to remove the offending plastic. Nancy spotted Royal Truck Wash. I drove over and asked their advice on where we could have the part removed. They offered to do it for us at no charge. Cool with me.

Moving the car over the truck pit was an interesting exercise. And rewarding. The fellow shown here was able to easily repair the damage. I couldn't let him get away without charging something so I pressed a twenty into his hand, thanked him profusely, then we went on our way.
