The land the cottage stands on was granted to Thomas Kenton by “The Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland” in 1896 for Six Pounds. It is believed Thomas Kenton an Englishman was a brick layer and mine owner at Mt. Elliot. The cottage has seen life over three centuries as a family home, boarding house, Antique Shop and now a B&B.
