Looking back, looking forward

This isn't a very heavily-edited or fancy photo, but it's very personal. A few months ago I got very, very sick. I stopped being able to process food, and I lost about 30lbs very quickly. I was diagnosed with gastroparesis, which basically means that my stomach was paralyzed and not able to empty like it should. It was painful and scary. I am doing much better now, but I still don't know what exactly caused the illness, how to prevent it, and if/when it will happen again. I still get very sick from time to time, and I find looking backwards and looking forwards to be overwhelming. This is the reason I'm taking a year off of school, and I have a long ways to go before I really feel healthy again. It's been a struggle, and I almost got below the 100lbs mark. This was taken after a recent flare up. I was shocked at how pronounced my vertebrae and ribs are (despite gaining some weight back from when I was at my worst).
