Shot for Active Assignment Weekly: Back to the Grind
I tried to come up with something original for this project but I just couldn’t realize what I pictured in my head onto the computer screen. Despite my best attempts to have a Nespresso capsule floating towards the machine in magical stream of light, it just wasn’t working. So I ditched the capsule all together and just went with this carnival-quality magic light.
WIT: The main shot was done with a beauty dish camera left and I held a reflector on camera right to fill in some shadows. Then I took out the tray and shoved a flash in there, gelled purple, to shoot up through the slot while a capsule was propped up above with toothpicks. Edit the two photos together in Photoshop and tried to add some light beams for effect. Ended up editing the capsule back out.
