PPV53

Back in preservation for a second time, PPV53 is an East Lancs-bodied (EL 5928) Regent V chassis no. 2D2RA1195 that was new in 1/63, in closed-top format to Ipswich as part of a batch numbered 49-55. It wore the green/cream livery, but didn't have the central green band. It was withdrawn in 1981 and bought for preservation in Summer 1981 by flickrite, Lincs L&P. www.flickr.com/photos/lincsborderterriers/albums/72157707...

The bus was initially rallied and some restoration work was carried out but it was later passed to Carl Ireland for conversion work to open-top format and repaint to red London Transport livery with 'RM53 fleetnumber'. It was exported to Japan for Nichioh Trade Service Co. Ltd, a vehicle sales and repairs business, which was established in 2/88.

After its work in Japan was completed, PPV53 re-entered preservation in its Japanese-guise in the Japan Motor Car Museum in Komatsu City, Ishikawa Prefecture. Photo shared from post by Kazuo Sendai dated 15-9-12.
