KYY770 (RTL800)

A photo of abandoned LT KYY770 (RTL800) taken 11-2-10 by Yuka Shirokawa at Nasu-Kogen. The bus had also worked for Harper Bros. of Heath Hayes and reportedly passed to Midland Red as fleetnumber 2207. It was exported to Japan in 1978, but its initial use is not recorded. It had become positioned in front of a hotel in Yokohama and was then bought by Cafe London Bus, which previously had a cafe building just behind and to the right of where the bus was standing at Shiobara City, Nasu District, Tochigi Prefecture. In accordance with the amendments to Japan's Road Transport Vehicle Act, the RTL had to have an emergency exit added to the left side of its upper deck and to the right side of its lower deck, when moved to the cafe site. The cafe was operational in 2006. but closed afterwards and RTL800 was abandoned on the site.

RTL800's plight was actually noted by the Tokyo Times. www.tokyotimes.org/london-calling-2/
