Prometheus
Promethues is the brother of Atlas. He is carrying the fire he stole from the Chariot of the Sun after Zeus denied it to the mortals in the cold. The earth is represented here by a mountain, the seas by the pool and heavens by the zodiac ring.
Carving on the red granite is a quote by Aeschylus: "Prometheus, Teacher in Every Art, Brought the Fire That hath Proved to Mortals a Means to Mighty Ends."
Sculptor: Paul Manship
