House cladded with fibre-cement weatherboards

A recently developed subdivision on the outskirts of Jimboomba, in south-east Queensland. I think there is some American influence in the design.

Quite a bit of criticism has been levelled at recently built houses and apartment blocks with white and light-grey (or light greige) colour schemes, bemoaning the abandonment of the early 20th century fashion for varied, bright colours on Queensland house exteriors. But frankly, I much prefer to rest my eyes on these light, muted colours schemes. And at 27ºS it is adaptive to have a light coloured, heat-reflective roof.
