Montane heathland on Gunung Ledang
Taken with my first digital camera, bought in 1999, so very poor image quality. It did not deal with bright daylight and high contrast situations at all well.
Gunung Ledang is an isolated granite massif on the Malay Peninsula about halfway between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
The first Western botanists to go up there noted how while the rainforest at low to medium altitude is typically Malay in composition, the high altitude elfin forest and the heathland above the treeline has quite a number of plants otherwise more familiar in New Guinea and Australasia.
