Baby raccoons
In Vancouver, we visited Stanley Park and hoped to see raccoons near Lost Lagoon. We had no luck to start with and were about to leave when we saw a man putting out some dried cat food and suddenly a mother and two baby raccoons appeared. The babies were scared and ran off but the mother just sat and stuffed her face! I was surprised she wasn't worried about her babies. We saw her babies hiding behind a nearby tree and then we watched the mother for about 5-10 minutes eating. While doing this she fought off a crow and another raccoon but eventually let them eat too. But the babies never did.
29.9.21 - I am delighted and surprised to have been a runner up in the Flickr World Photography Day 2021 photo competition, with so many fantastic photos on Flickr. This, and another very popular photo of mine taken in Canada in 2014, was shot on a Sony NEX-6 camera which goes to show that you don't always need expensive cameras for award winning photos. Thanks to the Flickr judges and all those who have faved and commented on this photo.
