(k) The 17 books I read in 2007 :)
Not counting uni textbooks and whatnot, mostly because I rarely read those in their entirety [sp].
Below are also starting dates, titles, authors and any ultramegaprofessional comments I may have.
18-Jan-2007: 1. "Les misérables" by Victor Hugo
Unfortunately, mine was an abridged version... as I discovered after buying it. :p But IIRC, it was kinda cozy so I might get the proper version sometime.
24-Apr-2007: 2. "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" by J.K. Rowling
A re-read shortly before the movie was released. You know, so I wouldn't love the movie harder than the book or anything. :O
7-May-2007: 3. "Persuasion" by Jane Austen
23-May-2007: 4. "Dracula" by Bram Stoker
2-Jun-2007: 5. "Sagan om Isfolket: Trollbunden" by Margit Sandemo
Norwegian author, translated to Swedish. I think I referred to it as Harry Potter on aphrodisiac. I probably won't pick up the 97349573945 other books in the series.
8-Jun-2007: 6. "Northanger Abbey" by Jane Austen
18-Jun-2007: 7. "Bröderna Lejonhjärta" by Astrid Lindgren
A re-read of a Swedish kiddy book about suicide and stuff. 8) And horses and cherry blossoms. A fave! Nice illustrations too. *iz 4 years old*
26-Jun-2007: 8. "Mio, min Mio" by Astrid Lindgren
A re-read of a Swedish kiddy book that's, uh, possibly about suicide and stuff? :B
29-Jun-2007: 9. "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" by J.K. Rowling
Preparing for the imminent "Half-Blood Prince" movie and the "Deathly Hallows" book! :D
15-Jul-2007: 10. "Män som hatar kvinnor" by Stieg Larsson
Think the English title is "Misogyny." Or "The girl with the dragon tattoo." I hate 99% of Swedish books and movies. :| But whichever book "Dragon tattoo" is... I better reread it (in English this tiemz) because TRENT REZNOR AND ATTICUS ROSS ARE MAKING THE MUSIC FOR THE AMERICAN MOVIE VERSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 8D
20-Jul-2007 (well, officially July 21, 1 am): 11. "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" by J.K. Rowling
RELEASE NIGHT! THE FINAL BOOK! ZOMFFSM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the first Harry book that made me cry. :D
26-Jul-2007: 12. "Mansfield Park" by Jane Austen
2-Aug-2007: 13. "Collapse: How societies choose to fail or survive" by Jared Diamond
Important book on my fave list! :)
8-Sep-2007: 14. "The selfish gene" by Richard Dawkins
My first Dawk book. Liked it! :) My faves so far are "Unweaving the rainbow" and "The god delusion" though, both of which I read in 2008.
10-Oct-2007: 15. "Conservation" by Clive Hambler
A re-read of a school textbook, but a pretty small and easy one. :) With many good points about conservation biology! Fave, I guess!
21-Dec-2007: 16. "Children of men" by P.D. James
I'd already seen the movie, for the a) subject of declining human population and b) Clive Owen's voice. :D The ending sucks. You know, where Homo sapiens pulls back from the brink of impending extinction. D:
28-Dec-2007: 17. "The alchemist" by Paulo Coelho
A fave book. It made me happy n shit, and I've heard about 2 other people say the same thing. :)
