(k) The 22... or so... books I read in 2008 :)
A good reading year, 2008. :) I found several faves! It may have something to do with the fact that in the summer I graduated from uni, where I'd been locked up with numerous heavy textbooks since 2003. I was pretty STARRRRRRRRVED for leisure reading. SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Starting dates, titles, authors and any comments I may have... :)
23-Jan-2008: 1. "Trainspotting" by Irvine Welsh
One of my fave books, I suppose. :) I had already seen the movie, which is also one of my faves. So is Ewan McGregor. And Scottish accents. :|
12-Feb-2008... I think: 2. "Asperger syndrom" (That's Swedish rather than a misspelling) by Christopher Gillberg
Who, me? WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THAT %P
17-Feb-2008: 3. "Jag avskyr ordet normal" (Swedish for "I hate the word normal") by Malin Nordgren
Another Swedish Aspie book. :) I don't hate the word "normal." I do hate people who automatically attach a positive meaning to it. 8) PS. Here is somebody else's great blog post on the subject of normal people. :B
18-Feb-2008: 4. "Unweaving the rainbow" by Richard Dawkins.
OMFFSM IT'S SO AWESOMESAUCE. 8D Three years after reading it I still think about chapter 1 pretty much every day. :) Almost everything Dawkins says is sensible. :D #smileyoveruse
27-Feb-2008: 5. "Djuren - i människans klor" by... a bunch of people, I think.
A Swedish little book about various animal / people relationships.
5-Mar-2008: 6. "On human nature" by Edward O. Wilson
3-Apr-2008: 7. "Guns, germs, and steel" by Jared Diamond
I recommend this.

9-Jun-2008: 9. "1984" by George Orwell
Went onto my fave list. :)
16-Jun-2008: 10. "The road" by Cormac McCarthy
Haven't seen the movie yet but I will. Not because I was crazy about the book; I just like to see pretty much every movie based on books I've read. :B
19-Jun-2008: 11. "The world without us" by Alan Weisman
Mmmmmmmmmmm. :B It also offers interesting and important bits about our current situation. Fave.

MY FAVOURITE BOOK. So if I could recommend 1 book to everyone, THIS WOULD BE IT. :O When it becomes possible to download books directly into one's brain, I shall learn to write virus programs (by... downloading the knowledge into my brain?) and infect you all. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA
16-Aug-2008: 16. "The elegant universe" by Brian Greene
My ex-email addy contained the phrase yoze_hates_physics, but this book on string theory is MATH FREE :D and a rather enjoyable mindfuck! :)

30-Oct-2008: 21. "The ancestor's tale" by Richard Dawkins
About evolution. Btw, you know what would be EXTREMELY KEWL?!?!?! If you could obtain photos of each of your great-great-great-great-and-so-on grandmothers - back to the ancestral cell - and line up the photos in the correct order (you - mum ----- ancestral cell) and walk along them and look at them all. :) :D 8D It might take a while. And be impossible and stuff. But awesome. :D ... #smileyoveruse
