Exklusiv für die Wandelhalle im Hauptbahnhof Hamburg entwickelte das Künstleratelier Lechnerhof, geführt von Christel und Laura Lechner, in ihrer Kunstreihe Alltagsmenschen die innovative Installation aus Beton.Sie trägt den Namen “Tor zur Welt” und wurde inspiriert vom weltberühmten New Yorker Foto “Lunch atop a Skyscraper”. Die in sich ruhenden Alltagsmenschen scheinen dort gemütlich zu sitzen, lassen die Beine baumeln und beobachten das pulsierende Leben des Bahnhofs. Die Skulpturen symbolisieren die Vielfalt und Internationalität der Gäste am Hauptbahnhof – von Reisenden und Touristen bis hin zu Berufspendlern und Anwohnern. Sie laden die Besucher ein, einen Moment inne zu halten, eine besondere Begegnung mit dem Alltag zu erleben und Teil der Kunst zu werden.

The artist studio Lechnerhof, run by Christel and Laura Lechner, developed the innovative installation made of concrete exclusively for the Wandelhalle in Hamburg Central Station in their art series Everyday People. It is called “Gate to the World” and was inspired by the world-famous New York photo “Lunch atop a Skyscrapers”. The calm everyday people seem to be sitting there comfortably, letting their legs dangle and watching the pulsating life of the station. The sculptures symbolize the diversity and internationality of the guests at the main station - from travelers and tourists to commuters and residents. They invite visitors to pause for a moment, experience a special encounter with everyday life and become part of art.
