"Paradies"....!..?
1254-59 wurde das „Paradies“, eine Vorhalle des Nordportals des Lübecker Doms, im spätromanischen Stil angefügt und übernahm von nun an die Funktion des Haupteingangs.
Eine bauliche Besonderheit ist die Paradies-Vorhalle ähnlich einem Narthex, wie man es vor allem von einer byzantinischen Basilika kennt. Sie wurde als letztes um 1980 wieder aufgebaut, nachdem 1946 der Giebel des nördlichen Querschiffs daraufgestürzt war.

A structural feature is the Paradise porch like a narthex how mainly knows it of a Byzantine basilica. It was built as the last in 1980 again after 1946, the gable of the north transept was fallen at it.
