AFRICAN JACANA // ACTOPHILORNIS AFRICANUS(30cm)

STALKS creeps and runs on the floating surface vegetation of lakes and pools. Frequently squabbles, rising wings in a threat posture to a potential aggressor. Flight is low and for short distances on rounded wings with legs hanging or held straight out behind. Very vocal at all times. We saw far fewer of these this visit, and this image sorry to say does not show its very large feet.
