LAPWING // VANELLUS VANELLUS (30cm)
AS A CHILD, can remember walking in the local arable farmland with Mum, and seeing many hundreds of these distinctive waders, mainly on the corn stubble, and their can be few sights and sounds more evocative of the country than performing lapwings. And now farmers plough over the stubble and reseed soon after cutting, To see any reasonable number of them, I have a hour drive to Elmley Marshes, a working farm, where nature is put first.
Please note that Elmley is currently closed, because of Covet19

WITH MUCH OF THE WORLD SHUT DOWN, and people told to stay in their homes, this is a good time for us to think- to consider where we are spiritually, to consider what God wants and expects us to do, to make choices we may have put off far too long.
