SHORELARK // ERMOPHILA ALPESTRIS (16cm)
WALKING ALONG THE SEA DEFENCE WALL AT RECULVERS KENT Nov 2012 I spotted in the distance a group of photographers, they told me there was a shorelark, so I had to try to capture it, this is the result. Had to read up on it, as had never heard of one. A smart bird, and quite a good find. But felt sorry for it
with all the attention it was getting, and wondered if it would feed with so many around, and have the strength to continue the journey . Told myself at this point I did not want to labeled as a twitcher, that all birds where beautiful, and photogenic, why chase after a solo bird properly hundreds of miles off course and lost and possibly sick.
