MEADOW PIPIT // ANTHUS PRATENSIS (15cm)
STREAKED brown bird, widespread but rather nondescript, the Meadow Pipit is a ground-dwelling species that feeds on invertebrates. Found all year round, out of breeding season it is often found in loose flocks. Posing well on Skomer Island, South Wales and enjoyed its pseet-pseet-pseet call, as seen above.
