SPOTTED CRAKE // PORZANA PORZANA (22cm)

GAMBIA TOUR 2018.

=================

RARE BEAUTY, according to the Gambian and Senegal bird book, no recorded sightings in the Gambia, so Bob and me are laying claim to this find !!! And I have not seen one in the U.K as also very Rare.

Sitting very patiently, for maybe a swamphen or moorhen, to briefly show its self from the reeds, we could hear a sound like dripping water, quip-quip-quip, then movement, and after a while it put in a appearance, then fully. Just snapped away. New it was a crake, but their are four to chose from. It has been officially identified as a spotted crake , they are very shy and secretive.

THANK YOU for your continued support, have now finished processing all the images, so more time for comments and British birds. Please stay safe and God bless...........Tomx.

We do not use Bird Guides , as its far more rewarding to try and find them yourself, we can spend hours with just one bird.
