GREAT NORTHERN DIVER / GAVIA IMMER.
FROM THE ARCHIEVES! not shown before. This beauty was in Ramsgate harbour a year ago, for quite a while, and I spent many a hour, watching and photographing it, frequently diving, making observation difficult, but it became quite trusting in the end, feeding on fish, but mainly crabs, Seen in its winter plumage, at about 75-85 cm in length, makes it a large and robust water bird.
