PREX 1750, La Harpe, IL
A weekend of model RR operating brought me back to Illinois, so on Monday I returned in search of the KJRY F units which I shot last February. Finding nothing in Mapleton, I drove to La Harpe where I found the crew would be called for 1330, so I ended up spending the morning killing a few hours shooting the BNSF "Transcon" around Lomax. Returning to La Harpe, I caught the Keokuk job arriving around 1300 (I would have hunted him earlier had I known) and got both jobs switching around La Harpe before the F's headed east behind the GP20, which I believe was returning to Mapleton for it's transfer assignment. This is one of the few views I grabbed of the F's uncovered while switching at La Harpe.
This is the second year in a row where I was on a road trip railfanning on 9/11. Last year I was shooting steam on the Nevada Northern... I am already wondering where I will be on 9/11 in 2018.
