I've been posting quite a bit of stuff from the '80's and '90's as I was most active as a railfan then. After the death of Kodachrome (plus other issues I wont go into here), I did not return to railfanning with a DSLR until 2014.
The early 1990's were a great time to be railfanning, as you still had BN, ATSF, SP, and CR for one, plus a good percentage of the trains were still led by DC power with standard cabs. This BN train heading west towards Denver with an A-B-B-A set of toasters by the Hastings NE depot is typical of what we would see almost everyday back then and what I miss the most. 1-19-1992
