Hot air balloons near Goreme, Cappadocia, Turkey
Cappadocia is well known for hot air balloons. We were there for 6 days and they launched twice; the weather was awful, mostly the high winds. On this morning the temps were around 20 degrees F; not a good day to be out and about. We watched the launch from the terrace of our hotel - it was a nice vantage point. As the balloons launched they went south, opposite of the normal direction. Me being me I dressed warmly and headed out. I found a road with great views and started shooting from there until some random big dog came up and nipped my back end. I did not appreciate that and we had a serious chat. He eventually wandered away and left me alone. On the plus side, the launch was pretty cool to watch.
