Trying to sneak by a Rage City Rollergirl (IMG_4118a)
Part of the 2010 Solstice Festival in Anchorage included a roller-derby match between two local teams. The match took place in Town Square - a strange venue for such an event since it's small, uneven, and made of concrete but I guess the girls didn't mind too much. It was fun to watch - there were some very interesting characters on rollerskates and also in the crowd. Just as I was starting to understand the rules that rain started and the refs called the match off at halftime - what a bummer!
