Qatar A-380 landing at LHR

These photos are from the first day of a month long European tour. We landed at London Heathrow at 6 a.m. after a 9.5 hour flight from SFO. I didn't want to go to sleep so the wife let me head to the Myrtle Avenue plane spotting field for a few hours. Rain showers were passing through but eventually cleared up. It was still cold and breezy but felt good to be outside. The odd thing was this was the first day of the British Airways pilots strike so very few BA flights were landing - that really reduced the amount of traffic landing.

I returned to the Premier Inn Terminal 4, grabbed the wife, and we went shopping and had dinner. By the time we got back to the room, runway alteration had taken place so now takeoffs were using 27L. Plane watching from the Premier Inn is great but it is a challenge to get clear, tack sharp photos since you shoot through two thick panes of glass. Any way to improve this?

I took these photos in early September 2019.
