Born 2 Be Mild ~
Happy New Year 2011
To each of you, my dear Flickr Friends, I say THANK YOU for your thoughtful visits throughout this last year. Your smiling faces beaming out at me from your buddy icon along with your faves and ever so kind words of encouragement, are a high point of any day.
I wish each of you all the best for the New Year. I look forward to enjoying the treasures that you have to share.
This precious Sparrow stops by the feeders everyday, eating his fill and teasing me by never staying still in one spot for more than a a few seconds. I took 144 continuous shots of him in a 2 and a half minute time span today as he flitted around on this perch, and I think I truly got a keeper in this one. I loved the bright winter sun shining through his outstretched wings.
Funny thing was the song he was whistling was not the regular song of the song sparrow but rater I distinctly heard the words of an old familiar tune ...
Should old acquaintances be forgotten,
And never brought to mind?
Should old acquaintances be forgotten,
And days of long ago !
Chorus:
For old long ago, my dear
For old long ago,
We will take a cup of kindness yet
For old long ago.
We two have run about the hillsides
And pulled the daisies fine,
But we have wandered many a weary foot
For old long ago......
