April Showers Bring May Flowers

As I sit here at my computer I am able to hear the cars drive by. Today I also hear the familiar sounds associated with the wheels splashing through the water on the highway. At times as the rain rolls in it brings a dismal gloom along with it. The gray skies, wet drips on my hair and clothes as I walk, and when it continues for days on end it becomes disheartening.
I, like most others, love clear sunny days. The days when the sky is a beautiful blue with white fluffy clouds seem to be dancing about. On those days, the grass becomes an invigorating green, the flowers seem to be smiling up at me, and the world is a bright and cheerful place to be. Who can resist such a day? Those are fun loving days. Days like today are far less welcomed for the most part. But I know that without these wet gray days I would have no green grass, no flowers, no streams to walk beside, and, if it went on too long without them, I may well have nothing to drink, or eat one day.
April is in many ways a hopeful month to me. It brings with it a promise of what is to come, while providing a reminder of all that is fading away. The barren trees and brown grass are both beginning to burst with new life. There is the definite promise of soon to be flowers all around. So on a day like today, as I hear the sounds of tires splashing through the rain I will allow myself to smile, and my heart to be filled with a knowing that these
