A.E.H. Love
discovered surface waves which led to the prediction of earth quakes. HE proposed some models of instruments that could detect small movements of the earth. The fluxuations they presented led to the development of a new science. He has been reffered to as the father of geology. His main literary contributions consisted of, some problems of geodynamics and a treatise on the mathematical theory of elasticity. The way he presnted the topics were ground breaking and focused on geometrical representations rather than stricit variable relationships.
