Dudley Freightliner Terminal was a busy location in its early years after opening in November 1967. It dealt with trains to and from Glasgow, Holyhead, Hull, Newcastle, Stockton, Southampton and Swansea, and was also a calling point for services operating to and from Cardiff and Edinburgh (calling also at Newcastle), and Cardiff and Sheffield.
