Ely Cathedral: interior of the lantern

."Ely's special glory was built by ALan de Walsingham to replace the Norman tower which fell in 1322. The main timbers are oak trees 63 feet x 2 ft. 7 inches x 3 ft. 4 inches." Vintage postcard, ca. 1967.

Ely Cathedral ties with Durham Cathedral for the Best British Cathedral award in my book!
