One of my old non-digital pictures rephotographed. The Redhead, a drake, is the bird with its neck extended. Redheaad is a biggish Aythya duck from North America that remains a massive rarity on this side of the Atlantic, unlike its near relatives (which occasionally nest-parasitises) the Lesser Scaup and Ring-necked Duck neither of which still qualify as rarities here at all despite both only being first detected in the twentieth century.
