20231020 (15)_Cedar_Waxwing

One of my old non-digital pictures rephotographed. Found by a remarkably thorough and optimistic birder who decided to scrutinise every individual in a huge flock of Waxwings in Nottingham, this was originally held to be the first record for Britain: but reassessment of an earlier bird on Shetland following acceptance elevated that to the position. Regardless, it was a very rare bird that had the entire twitching community returning to Nottinghamshire not long after Britain's first Redhead, to enjoy views of this bird often after a chase around the city as the flock moved between feeding spots.
