20231020 (11)_Grey-tailed_Tattler

One of my old non-digital pictures rephotographed. After a long haul Northwards we had crippling views of this Gray-tailed Tattler near Burghead on the outer Moray Firth in Scotland. It was a legendary second for Britain as the first had been suppressed in Wales by the RSPB (conservation organisations were unenlightened in those thankfully far-off days: now they not only want the publicity from big rarities but recognise there's gold in them there twitchers). With no further British records to date it remains a much wanted bird.
