20231009 (32)_Whites_Thrush

A rare vagrant from the Far East, White's Thrush with its variegated scaly plumage is highly prized by British birders, not least because it has a reputation for short stays and elusiveness during them. This bird in a plantation on Bressay, Shetland, stayed a week and with berries laid in a clearing for it and other thrushes also showed very well from time to time. We visited it towards the end of its stay and enjoyed excellent views.
