One of two delightful Chipmunks in the static at the Royal International Air Tattoo, RIAT 2023, RAF Fairford, Gloucestershire: the world's greatest military airshow and a must every year for any UK aviation enthusiast at least. The Chipmunk was De Havilland Canada's first indigenous design rather than building aircraft of the parent British company and was an immediate success, being sold to air forces around the world as a basic trainer including the RAF, for whom it not only replaced the De Havilland Tiger Moth but was built under licence by De Havilland in the UK!
