Once Styhead is attained new vistas open up including the view through the very top of Borrowdale across to Helvellyn. Left of the summit of that great fell the vertiginous arete of Striding Edge curves across it like an arm on a big armchair, while the other arm of Swirral Edge swings down to the right.
