Front door of the Wasdale Head Inn, Cumbria - the Wastwater Hotel when I first visited.. The low walls were added sometime about the start of the Seventies to stop people parking right up to the walls of the hotel or even blocking the front door. Nowadays this area is no longer car parking at all, with tables for customers to sit out and enjoy the views in fine weather.
