I'd never seen any kind of frogmouth so when Big John announced he had the endemic Sri Lanka Frogmouth having found it with his thermal imager during our last night walk in the rainforest across the River Kenali from our accommodation at the Kitulgala Rest House, I was by his side pretty rapidly. It sat calmly while we circled looking for the best camera angles and this was the eventual result.
