For once serendipity: the day we were coming off Shetland anyway, a small wader at New Swillington Ings RSPB, West Yorkshire, that had been claimed as a (fairly scarce but regular) Temminck's Stint became first a fairly rare American Least Sandpiper and then the truly mega Britain's third (or fourth) Long-toed Stint! It wasn't too hard to redirect our route South to include the site and a brisk walk netted us scope views and these rubbish record shots of this highly prized Far-Eastern stint.
