Olive-backed Pipits no longer qualify as rare birds in the British Birds Rarities Committee: nowadays they are more a scarce migrant. However they retain that Eastern flavour and are in addition very neat, smart classy birds on a purely aesthetic level so this confiding individual at Isbister, Mainland Shetland, was a real treat.
