20210503 (28)_Grasshopper_Warbler

Grasshopper Warblers - Groppers in birding idiom - are summer visitors to Britain found breeding (and often on migration) in damp well vegetated habitats: among bushes and rushes in wetland and swamp. They are inveterate skulkers, difficult to observe and more difficult to photograph - except sometimes when they first come in and sing. We got word of a showy Gropper at Otmoor RSPB reserve and launched an expedition on the morrow!
