An adult female with three half-grown kits, fishing off the coast near Hillswick, Mainland Shetland. She seemed disposed to keep them out as long as possible, strengthening their swimming and diving, but showed herself sensitive to their levels of ability, leading them back to shore when one or other showed it had had enough.
