Convicted by the authorities of interbreeding with the rare White-headed Duck in Spain, introduced American Ruddy Ducks were sentenced to death some years ago and most have been shot. Year-ticking them has accordingly become very difficult, and though this one is hiding in plain sight I am not going to say where it is (or was some days ago)!
