20170218 (32)_Desert_Wheatear

First winter male Desert Wheatear moulting into spring plumage, Thurlestone, Devon. This bird arrived at the tail end of autumn migration in 2016, has over-wintered on this beach and is now the longest-staying Desert Wheatear in British ornithological records. On my visit it was most accommodating and I enjoyed a good session with this attractive chat.
