A very rare bird in Britain under normal circumstances, several individuals have appeared following the long period of easterly airstreams from the heart of Eurasia. This one showed extremely well early morning in a field by the coast at Easington, East Yorkshire. It is possible that the buffier than expected appearance is due to the hue of the earth in the field rather than plumage colouration.
